- The
competition consists of two stages: Semifinals (by DVD, due the first
Friday in December, finalists announced the following Friday) and
Finals (performance before the Jury, Saturday, January 16 in 2009)

- The order
of auditions will be determined by drawing numbers prior to the
competition.
- The finals
will be held in public. Winners will be annouced and prizes will be
awarded 45 minutes following the last audition. The Winners
Recital and the lunch will be held on January 17 at 12:00 p.m at the
Corpus Christi Town Club. The cost of the lunch will be $40 per
person.

- The
repertoire requirements of the Competition are based on the first stage
of the Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland and
include the following pieces to be played from memory:
1. Two Etudes, one from each group below. At least one must be
different from the one perfomed during Preliminary Round.

Other prizes maybe announced later. The Fryderyk Chopin Society of
Texas, Inc. reservers the right to award the First Prize Winner with an

the Chopin Society.
The prize winners receive the title of Winners of the Seventeenth
Annual International Chopin Piano Competition sponsored by the Fryderyk
Chopin Society of Texas, Inc.
