Dr. Jan Bogdan Drath is retired as a professor of music at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. His education includes Artists’ Diploma, Master’s degree, Docent degree and doctoral studies from State College of Music, Katowice, Poland, and Doctor of Musical Arts degree from North Texas State University. Since his debut at the age of sixteen in the Liszt Piano Concerto, Dr. Drath has performed in Europe, Asia, United States, and Mexico, performing solo recitals, concertos with orchestras, and radio and TV recitals. Dr. Drath is editor of piano and early
keyboard music. In 1980, Texas A&I University published his
“Waltzes of Fryderyk Chopin: Sources, Vol. 1” and “Waltzes Published
During Chopin’s Lifetime”. He
is founder and director of the Annual Chopin Workshop at Texas A&M
University-Kingsville since 1980. | |||
